Privacy Policy
Dungeon Diary
A minimalist, single-player narrative puzzle adventure. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what the app does and does not do with your data.
The short version
We don't run our own servers or collect your name, email, or contacts.
- Your game progress is stored on your device. It never reaches us.
- The app has no first-party analytics and no login we control.
- The only data that can leave your device goes through Google — optional rewarded ads (AdMob) and optional cloud save (Google Play Games / Game Center). Both are described below.
- We do not sell your data.
Who this policy is from
Dungeon Diary ("the app", "we", "us") is an independent mobile game developed and published by Maverick. This policy covers the Dungeon Diary app on Google Play and other stores where it is distributed. If you have any questions, the contact details are at the bottom of this page.
Data stored on your device
The app saves your progress locally using your device's standard app storage. This includes things like which chapters and puzzles you've completed, the choices you've made, your progress and any in-game items, hint usage, and settings such as sound preferences.
This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app removes it. We never see it.
Optional cloud save (Google Play Games / Game Center)
When you are signed in to Google Play Games (Android) or Apple Game Center (iOS), the app backs up your game progress to your account using the platform's standard "Saved Games" feature. It attempts this automatically when the game starts, and again whenever you tap Cloud Sync.
Sign-in and storage are handled entirely by Google or Apple. We do not receive your account password, and we do not build a profile of you. The only information saved is your game progress. This relies on your platform account: if you are not signed in to Play Games or Game Center, or you decline the sign-in, nothing is uploaded. Your saved data is governed by Google's and Apple's own privacy policies (linked below), and you can delete it from your Play Games or Game Center account at any time.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app may offer optional rewarded ads — for example, watching a short ad to earn an in-game bonus. Watching an ad is always your choice; declining simply means you don't get that optional bonus. There are no forced or full-screen ads outside of this.
Ads are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google and its ad partners may collect and process:
- your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS);
- your IP address and general device information (device model, operating system, language);
- an approximate, non-precise location inferred from your IP address;
- ad-interaction data, such as which ads were shown and whether they were viewed.
Google uses this to serve, cap, and measure ads and, where you have consented, to personalize them. Google acts as an independent controller of the data it collects through its SDK. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, and the AdMob partner list.
Your consent and ad choices
Europe (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland: before ads load, the app shows Google's consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform). If you decline personalized ads, you will still see non-personalized ads instead.
iOS: the app shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you don't allow tracking, the app cannot access your IDFA for that purpose. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in Settings → Google → Ads.
What we do not collect
The app does not collect or request your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise GPS location, microphone, or camera. We do not create an account for you, we run no analytics of our own, and we do not sell or rent any data to anyone.
Data summary
At a glance, here is what may be collected and by whom. This mirrors the categories in the Google Play Data safety section.

Data retention & deletion
On-device data lasts until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Cloud saves live in your Google Play Games or Apple Game Center account and can be deleted from there. Ad data collected by Google is retained and controlled by Google under its own policies. To ask us anything about your data, or to request deletion of information under our control, email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Children's privacy
Dungeon Diary is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any advertising served in the app is subject to Google's policies. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Security & international transfers
Data stored on your device is protected by your operating system's app sandbox. Data handled by Google and Apple is transmitted over their encrypted connections and may be processed on servers in other countries under their respective safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we and our providers take reasonable measures to protect information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves or as laws change. When we do, we'll revise the "Effective" date at the top of this page, and material changes will be reflected here. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
